CLASS LL
-Three first place finishes, three third places finishes, a fourth, a fifth and a sixth is how Xavier won their first ever state championship in wrestling and beat Danbury (a 1st, 3rd, 4th, four 5ths and two 6ths), the team that has won the Class LL meet every year since 1996 (literally a lifetime for some of these kids). South Windsor had a very nice showing as well with two first place winners and three second place winners but besides that only a sixth place finish; if they could put up some more even decent wrestlers this may have been their championship. Nonetheless, congratulations to the Xavier Falcons and Coach Mike Cunningham (Tyler is his son and one assistant coach is his father)!

This blog is all about high school sports in Connecticut. I do not cover every sport but I cover mainly girls vball, girls bball, football, boys bball, boys ice hockey, boys lacrosse and occasional posts on running (all 3 seasons), girls field hockey, wrestling, and boys soccer. I have a special interest in boys vball since I play that sport. I am a contributing writer for LaxPower; you should check out the link below!
