North Branford 7 vs Suffield-Granby-Windsor Locks 1 @ Enfield Twin Rinks
-I was way off on this pick but what fooled me was North Branford plays a relatively tough schedule and that must have prepared them well for this one. The Thunderbirds move on to face Tri-Town in the NHC Championship on Saturday at 4pm @ the International Skating Center in Simsbury.
SWC Semifinals @ Danbury Ice Arena:
Newton 2 vs Watertown-Pomperaug 5
Joel Barlow 1 vs Brookfield-Bethel-Danbury 3
-Championship game is Saturday at 720pm @ the Danbury Ice Arena.
St. Bernard-Bacon Academy-Norwich Free Academy 3 @ Sheehan 4 OT
-How fitting that Sheehan has to go to overtime to win and qualify for the DIII tournament. I will not post the bracket until after is it official since there is so much controversy surrounding it (see other post).
Friday
SCC-DII Semifinals @ Bennett Rink:
Branford 1 vs Guilford 4
-This game was 2-1 heading into the third and a lot closer than the score indicates. Branford, last seed in DII tournament (right now...see other post though), will be a tough out first round.
Daniel Hand 2 vs Cheshire 1
-Hand pulls the shocker...or was it? Wethersfield, a DII team that didn't even make the playoffs, took Cheshire to OT just the other day and Hand has tied Conard, never lost a gmae by more than 3 goals, in fact most were only by one, and only lost 4-5 last time they played Cheshire. Interesting thing to note: only lost 1-2 to Guilford last time they played...the championship will be a very good game!
Championship: Saturday at 6pm @ Bennett Rink.
