Boys' Basketball: Conference Tournaments

SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT CONFERENCE

Game 3 – #10 Cheshire (13-8) vs. #2 Hillhouse (17-2) – 3:30 p.m.
Game 4 – #6 Xavier (14-7) vs. #3 Wilbur Cross (16-5) – 5:15 p.m.

Fourteen teams have qualified for the 2011 SCC Boys Basketball Playoffs.  Teams that won eight games qualified for the tournament. The tournament seeds were based on the teams’ winning percentage in the 18 games (divisional, crossover and interdivisional) scheduled by the league.  Career (19-1) is the tournament's top seed for the first time. The top two seeds (Career and Hillhouse) will receive first-round byes.  North Haven is the defending SCC champion.  The third-seeded Indians defeated top-seeded Hillhouse, 41-34, in the 2010 championship game at Quinnipiac’s TD Bank Sports Center.  North Haven did not qualify for the 2011 tournament.

Past Champions: Wilbur Cross (1998, 1999, 2000, 2003, 2004 and 2008) has won a league-best six titles. Hillhouse (1996, 2006, 2007 and 2009) and Xavier (1995, 1997, 2001 and 2005) each have won four SCC titles, while Career (2002) has won one.
