Baseball: Opening Day Games to Watch (4/6-4/9)

Courtesy of Matt Burns:

Game of the week: West Haven @ Cheshire on Wednesday 4/6 @ 4pm
-When preseason rankings come out this week, it will be no surprise to see these two schools on top. West Haven boasts an incredible pitching staff featuring two Division 1 signees in Eric Stone (BC) and Jeremy Soule (Fairfield). Cheshire on the other hand returns their starting catcher in Connor David who has signed to play at UConn next year along with Pitcher/SS/OF Max Slade. They also return power hitting third basemen in Dom Severino who will be playing for Central Connecticut next year. With the amount of depth they have at pitcher it will be no surprise to see the Rams atop the rankings consistently every week. If both teams start their ace, which is what I assume will happen, this game will certainly be a pitchers duel that both teams will want to win to set a positive tone for the season.
