Monday 4/18
Simsbury @ Brien McMahon @ 3pm
-An undefeated Brien McMahon looks to keep rolling against a pretty good Simsbury squad that has just had some tough losses to Joel Barlow, Xavier and Daniel Hand. McMahon had impressive wins over St. Joseph and a decent Brookfield team so it will be interesting to see who wins this odd match-up.
New Milford @ Masuk @ 4
-Could shape out to be an okay lacrosse game.
St. Joseph @ Newton @ 6
-You haven't heard much from Newton and Colby Summerlin this season yet but trust me, they are good! They sit at 4-0 with a 20-3 win over Brookfield in their first game and then 20-0 over Stratford in the next. Recently, they took down New Milford 15-7 and then a very good Conard team 8-7 on Saturday. St. Joseph is 2-2 by way of losses to Darien and Brien McMahon but they have talent and it showed in their 14-7 win over Norwalk and 16-0 over Notre Dame- Fairfield. How they will do in this game is uncertain but a win would be huge!
Tuesday 4/19
Glastonbury @ Fairfield Prep @ 345pm
-CCC v SCC; powerhouse v powerhouse, Prep's balance offense v Douglas Pollack. Although even northern fans are picking Cheshire to win this one, it should still be a very good lacrosse game and when two top teams go head-to-head you never really know what is going to happen so never say never!
Joel Barlow @ Daniel Hand @ 7
-Again, another odd match-up, this time between a SCC team and a SWC team. Barlow is 4-0 with quality wins over Simsbury 7-4 and Masuk 14-2 and then impressive wins 18-1 over and 19-0 over Stratford. Hand may be 2-3 but they beat Guilford 10-5 and Simsbury 8-6 and listen to how filthy the teams they lost to are: Cheshire only 7-8, Prep 6-10 and Glastonbury 7-11. This game will be very good and a great night game on Hand's turf field!
This blog is all about high school sports in Connecticut. I do not cover every sport but I cover mainly girls vball, girls bball, football, boys bball, boys ice hockey, boys lacrosse and occasional posts on running (all 3 seasons), girls field hockey, wrestling, and boys soccer. I have a special interest in boys vball since I play that sport. I am a contributing writer for LaxPower; you should check out the link below!
