Boys' Lacrosse: Championship Results (Saturday 6/11)

Before I start my final post, I have some things to take care of:

Thank you everyone for reading, it really means so much to me that this website has become such a success; 15,000 views is above an beyond anything I expected when I started this website back in January.

My final record for lacrosse postseason picks was 31-4 (89%) and for volleyball was 15-7 (68%) making me 46-11 (81%) overall.

Sorry my coverage on baseball fell out during the season, I really do wish I had had the time to keep it up on my own; I play and love the sport.  The state championships were some really awesome games so congrats to (17) Newington 3-2 over (7) Southington in 10 innings (Class LL), (15) Notre Dame-West Haven 2-1 over (16) Farmington on a suicide squeeze in the bottom of the 7th inning (Class L), (20) Montville 1-0 over (22) Seymour (Class M), (2) East Hampton 6-2 over (1) East Catholic (Class S).

Lastly, in case you don't know, my name is Mark Scalzo and hopefully this is not the last time you will see my name.  Becoming a professional sports writer is one possibility but politics is a more likely avenue; I look forward to possibly serving you once again!

CLASS L

(4) #3 Fairfield Prep 10 vs (6) #2 Ridgefield 11
-I guess my objective side held true (my higher seed held true) as Sean Wilkinson scored the game winning goal in this one with 15 seconds left but really, almost like Darien's loss, this result can be attributed to a key injury.  Prep's goalie Mike Seelye took a shot off the chest early in the second quarter and was spitting up blood, he even had to be taken to the hospital later.  At that point, Prep was up 6-1 but Ridgefield made it 6-5 at halftime, 10-8 after three and ending up winning 11-10; see below:
