Boys' Volleyball: Semifinals Results (Tuesday 6/7)

3-1 on the day isn't bad; I didn't realize how much Ridgefield sucked.  I've seen the Class L teams (Newington) play this year so I feel very confident in my championship game picks (post coming soon).

CLASS L

(2) Southington 1 vs (3) Staples 3 (23-25, 25-22, 25-11, 25-17)
-For Staples, Danny Fishman had 46 assists, one kills, nine digs, three blocks and a service error, Andreas Bub had 18 kills and six blocks, Drew Appleman had 12 kills and three digs, Jonah Aelyon had 15 kills, one assist, six digs, and a service error, Stephen Denowitz had four kills, two assists, six digs, and a service error, AJ Green had six kills, two digs, and an ace, Jake Mccambley had one dig and two aces, David Kolb and Jordan Goldstein each added one dig, and libero #98 had four digs and libero #1 had five digs.  For Southington, Ryan Masters had 40 assists, one kills, six digs, and one block, Michael Cannata had 14 kills, 12 digs, two blocks, one ace and one service error, Daniel Carbone had 14 kills, 10 digs, one block and two service errors, Jeffery Kolb had seven kills and one dig, Matthew Macchi had 11 digs and two service errors, Zachary Nicholas had four kills, five digs and three blocks, Matthew Russo had three kills, two assists, nine digs and one block, #21 had two kills and #13 had one dig.

(1) Cheshire 3 vs (4) Ridgefield 1 (25-8, 25-21, 21-25, 25-18)
-For Ridgefield, Christopher Bruno had 31 assists, one kill, 11 digs, one block and one ace, Ian Word had 14 kills and five digs, Alexander Cooper had 10 kills, five digs, one ace and one service error, Michael Peckham had six kills, two digs, one block and two service errors, Alexander Gasdia had one kills, two assists, one dig, two blocks and a service error, Kevin O'Rourke had four kills, two digs, three blocks and two service errors, Paul Cooke had two aces and four service errors and Eric Cyr had one ace.  For Cheshire, Ray Brumleve had 39 assists, two kills, nine digs, one block and two aces, Nate Howard had 18 kills, one assist, one dig, four blocks, one ace and three service errors, Ryan Cuppernull had 13 kills, eight digs, one block, six aces and two service errors, Joe Bahgat had nine kills, two assists, four digs and two aces, Matt Ward had one kill, two digs and five blocks, K.C. Philcox had one kill, three digs, three blocks and two service errors, Tyler Sweigard had three digs, one block and two service errors and Jochai Mor had three digs.

CLASS M

(1) Darien 3 vs (5) Fermi 0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-18)
-For Darien, Calder Billhart had 13 kills, 13 service points, three aces and a block, Sam Bryan had 11 kills and three digs, Austin Cockerill had 10 kills and three blocks, setter Matt Lee tallied 35 assists along with nine service points, four aces and a block, Sean Lee had nine service points and four digs, and Matt Collier added two blocks.

(2) Masuk 2 vs (3) Newington 3 (19-25, 24-26, 25-23, 25-14, 17-15)
-For Newington, Reed Feery had 46 assists.  For Masuk, Colin Neaton had 45 assists.
