Darien 13 @ Greenwich 6
-After losing to Greenwich in the FCIAC semifinals last year, Darien's hunger for vengeance showed in this one. They played an intense and physical game, especially the second quarter. The game started evenly matched, ending 2-2 after the first. Then, Darien went a major run in the second period led by multiple scorers, taking the quarter 7-1 and making the score 9-3 at the break. In the second half, Greenwich did have three minutes of a man advantage but only got 7 shots (1 on net) and, more importantly, zero goals. In the game, Eric Foote and Stephen Dodd each had two for the Cardinals while Andrew Feeney and Jason Sands had the other two and David Dickson added an assist. Ryan Fisher finished with 15 saves but it wasn't enough as the Blue Wave got four goals and two assists from Ben Preston and another two goals and one assist each from Case Matheis and Graham Maybell. Richard Gregory also had two goals and the other three were from Bobby Weaver, Baylis Treen and Scotty Waters. Dylan Torey saved 10 in goal.

This blog is all about high school sports in Connecticut. I do not cover every sport but I cover mainly girls vball, girls bball, football, boys bball, boys ice hockey, boys lacrosse and occasional posts on running (all 3 seasons), girls field hockey, wrestling, and boys soccer. I have a special interest in boys vball since I play that sport. I am a contributing writer for LaxPower; you should check out the link below!
