Boys' Lacrosse: Wednesday and Thursday Results (4/13 and 4/14)

Wednesday 4/13

Stamford 7 @ Westhill 11

Thursday 4/14

Masuk @ Barlow

Wilton 7 @ Darien 14
-The one team with a shot at actually beating Darien hung with them early but the Blue Wave proved to be just too good and ended up winning big!  Quick stats: For Darien, Case Matheis had five goals in the first half alone, Henry West had 2 and Ben Preston finished with 3.  For Wilton, Chris Nugnet put up 3 in the second half but it wasn't enough.  The Blue Wave dominated possession, especially thanks to Clay Barker on faceoffs, and the Warriors simply got outplayed by a team on another level.

Cheshire 10 @ Southington 7

Greenwich 10 @ New Canaan 9
-In one of the better games so far this season, Greenwich pulled off an exciting comeback to take this one by one over the higher-ranked Rams; Andrew Feeney was the hero with 1:55 remaining.  This game was a repeat of last year's FCIAC championship game with the same winner.  Scoring is as follows: For Greenwich, Eric Foote, Adams Sands and Will Waesche all had one goal apiece.  Andrew Feeney finished with two goals, as did David Dickson, who also added an assist, and then Alex Marcus assisted Feeney's game-winner and won many key faceoffs for the Cardinals throughout.  However, Stephen Dodd led things with three goals and two assists.  In net, Dan Feeney had 10 saves and Ryan Fisher had one when D Feeney had to sit the end of the second due to a hard check he recieved.  For New Canaan, Joe Costigan, Scott O'Brien, Tom Picard, Henry Eschricht and Peter Kraus each had one goal while Duke Repko, only a sophomore, and Matt Blasco each had two goals.  Jimmy Joe Granito had 8 saves for the Rams in the first half and then Thomas Carey had another 7 in the second half.
